Minnesota governers opener

Wells Fargo on board for Governor’s Fishing Opener

Wells Fargo has donated $10,000 to the upcoming Governor's Fishing Opener. The bank is also donating $2,000 in product. "We are happy to support this event and help bring it to our community," said Eric Barth, Wells Fargo business relations manager. "This will be great promotion for the city of Grand Rapids and the surrounding communities." The 2011 opener is the 63rd governor's opener since it was established in 1948 and the third time Grand Rapids has hosted the event. The event was designed to improve Minnesota's economy through the development and promotion of the state's recreational opportunities, especially fishing. The Fishing Opener is May 13 and 14, 2011 and will be based at Ruttger's Sugar Lake Lodge, with fishing on Pokegama Lake and other area lakes. Sponsorship categories for the Governor's Fishing Opener range from less than $500 to more than $20,000. Donations can be cash, in-kind and/or fishing-related products. To participate, contact Sponsorship Chair Steve Arbour at 327-1270, 259-2014 or arbour1974@msn.com; or visit the Governor's Fishing Opener website for more information at http://www.mngovernorsopener.com/.
